Vitamin C: How it’s great for your eyes

This will be the first post of many, that focuses on key vitamins and minerals, and how they are great for your eye and vision health. This first post is all about Vitamin C, and we will be posting about other vitamins other time as well! Stay tuned!

What it is: Vitamin C, or ascorbic acid, is an essential nutrient that plays a key role in a wide range of body and immune functions

How it supports your eyes: Vitamin C provides several long-term benefits to your vision health, including:

-Lowers the risk of cataracts
-Slows the progression of macular degeneration
-Supports the health of blood vessels in the eyes

Where to get it: Vitamin C is found naturally in a very wide range of citrus fruits and vegetables, as well as in most multivitamin supplements. 500mg of Vitamin C per day is recommended.
